Best Friends Forever
(2013) is a clever dark comedy and sci-fi horror movie, combining
equal parts heartfelt road trip buddy film and apocalyptic disaster
story.
In the opening scene of
the 1987 film “Hell Comes to Frogtown” you see a Lady Liberty
statue as in many post apocalyptic films. Then comes a hand and it's
revealed that's only a toy, trash. It's like the B-Mobie saying, we do
it cheap, we would like to have a Lady Liberty in ruins but sorry we
don't have the budget.
Two
more of the famous prints by the Scottish painter and traveler David
Roberts (1796–1864). Both are showing Karnak probably Robert's
favorite subject. It's above all the colossal size of the ruins
reducing men to ants. It's easy to see that he still has an enormous
influence on fantasy painters.
Two
works by the Russian-Canadian artist George Grie (born 1962). Grie
specializes in 3D, 2D, and matte painting images. He is strongly
influenced by famous surrealists such as René Magritte and Salvador
Dalí.
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe.
Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion.
I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate.
All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.
